Louis Quail’s ‘Big Brother’ Kickstarter has reached its target!
At the opening night of ‘MIND’ back in September, we had a fantastic array of speakers who shared their personal experiences of mental health. One of these speakers was documentary photographer Louis Quail whose brother Justin suffers from schizophrenia.
That evening he shared his plans with us to launch a Kickstarter for The ‘Big Brother’ Book Project – he needed to raise £12,000 for a published version of his photographic project ‘Big Brother’.
We were honoured when Louis agreed to join Faces in Focus for this year’s exhibition. Not only did he speak openly and with great warmth to an unknown audience, he also allowed us the use of his images for our publicity and promotion. His work embodied so much of the message we hoped to share and he was an integral part of making ‘MIND’ such a special weekend.
We are so pleased to announce that the project has reached its target! The book, which will be published in partnership with Dewi Lewis, had 236 backers who pledged £12,688.
Congratulations Louis – we can’t wait to see this poignant and deeply personal story brought to life!
